Steps

1. Blend thoroughly all ingredients except egg whites.
2. Whisk egg whites until stiff then fold into mixture.
3. Pour into an 8-inch greased dish, put in a larger pan of hot water and bake at 325°F for 40–50 minutes.
4. A layer of cake forms at the top and the lemon sauce at the bottom. Delicious eaten by itself or with ice cream.
